What Customers Say About D-Link DWA-140 RangeBooster Draft 802.11n Wireless USB Adapter:
|
|
It provides fast wireless speeds and reliable connectivity. It was easy to install. Definitely would recommend to anyone. I purchased this wireless adapter for a Windows Vista 64-Bit system. Installed the adapter in accordance with the provided instructions.
So, I returned this product within 7 days of purchase. I compared my upload and download speed on different websites which didn't seem to differ after adding the D-Link DWA-140. I own a 2005 Dell Inspiron 630M and got this to speed up its wireless capabilities. However, adding this USB wireless adapter did not increase its signal strength or internet speed.
I would give it 5 stars if it were as fast as it says it can be.I'm very happy. I'm getting 130mbp speed. I might get an extra DWA-160 for a lap top that is not as fast. I installed this DWA 140 on a 6 year old computer running XP. I was up and running in 15 minutes.
Except for that I would give the thing a 5. This unit is simple to set up and works very well. The 811.b adapter this replaced is over 5 years old with no problems ever. D-link support is not so hot but I have always had good luck with the products. Getting data rates of 230-300 MBps in a large house with a D-Link DGL-4500 n router on 2.4GHZ with WPA-PSK setup.Only problem I had is the install CD would not open on 2 of my 3 computers. I had to download the install/driver software on to 2 of them from D-link.
This is a very ggood product, the only problem that I found it's don't have too much range of distance detection to the wi-fi signal.
